Project Overview

Anna Harrison’s Girl Scout Gold Award Project, Plastic House 2012, is a community-based effort to address the mentality of waste, especially in youth, and to provide a resource to local public school teachers.   We created a greenhouse out of plastic bottles, tires, wire, and wood for the use of Brighten Academy, a local charter school.

The Gold Award is the highest Award in Girl Scouting. There is a recommended time commitment of 80+ hours, and there are a number of steps through which to go prior to completion of the project, including sitting before a committee to decide whether or not the project will be passed.

This blog will be a space where I will update the public on the status of the project.
